Press release, "Double Knight Game" description, image (contact sheet) of the performance, and an installation need list
TUESDAY MARCH 27, 1990 – SATURDAY APRIL 21, 1990This exhibition of Formalhaut, a West German team comprised of architects Gabriela Seifert and Götz Stöckmann and artist Ottmar Hörlat, featured an installation of 100 toy robots that “performed” during the opening. Formalhaut’s other projects took the form of temporary installations that alter perceptions of space and scale. Through their constructions they sought to challenge supposedly self-evident qualities of the built environment. The exhibition also included videos of a lecture given by Volker Fischer of the Deutsches Architeturmuseum in Frankfurt, Formalhaut’s project “Double Knight Game,” and photo documentation of their other projects.
